IP data and control planes separation

IP data and control planes separation - The main question we set out to solve last year was the following one: "If protecting networks' availability is the question, is separating control and data planes the answer?" We concluded that there was no simple answer to it, that there was more than one alternative and that the trade-offs between the various alternatives needed to be investigated. As a conclusion of this work we have produced the first draft of an evolutionary roadmap for the IP control plane, and suggested a number of technologies which provided a suitable level of separation. This year's work builds on last year's results and aims to solidify and demonstrate our results.
